Catholic education is alive and well in the diocese of Buffalo! At Catholic Academy of West Buffalo, we are celebrating over 20 years of excellence in education. Located at 1069 Delaware Avenue, in the heart of Buffalo’s historic district, our school is strong and vibrant and we embrace our Catholic faith and the diversity of our neighborhoods.
We offer programs in grades Pre-K (3) through 8th grade. Students in our 2010 graduating class won over $136,000 in academic scholarships to area high schools. Two students in Kindergarten and 1st grade won awards in the 2010 PBS Kids Go! Writing Contest. Fourteen students in grades 6 & 8 entered the WNY Science Congress in April and six earned medals. The Art Honors class once again won a medal, this time for the Off The Beaten Path for the Most Unusual Entry at Albright Knox Art Gallery Arts Alive contest on June 5th. This years' track team had 4 medal winners in the Diocesan Track Meet. We are very proud of our students' accomplishments.
We also pride ourselves on a rigorous academic program and offer a wide variety of extra curricular activities. We are challenged by changing educational strategies and always strive to keep current with curriculum and technological advances. We are thrilled that our building has gone "Wi Fi" this year to accomodate laptops and whiteboards in use in most classrooms.
